About UL Ratings

UL stands for Underwriters Laboratories Inc., a private testing organization established in 1894 by the Association of American Fire Insurance to protect human live and property from fires, disasters, and other accidents. The organization tests and certifies a wide range of products, parts, and materials. Most American states have authorized the use of UL ratings.

About CSA Standards

Canadian law requires products to comply with CSA Standards. UL has been authorized as a certification organization for CSA Standards, so products certified as compliant with CSA standards may display the cUL mark and be used in Canada.

Differences with standard domestic models

Because rated motors differ from standard domestic models, only Nissei can perform motor manufacturing, modification, or repair.
Unless otherwise specified, 3- and 1-phase 15W to 90W gearmotors, 3-phase 0.1kW to 0.4kW gearmotors, and 1-phase 100W gearmotors ship with bare motor lead wires (no connectors attached). The following optional terminal boxes can be specified:

*Gearmotors with motor capacities of 0.75kW to 2.2kW ship standard with terminal boxes, following the same specifications as the domestic Japanese models.
